Exact text and exclusions need readable indexed pages. Date filters omit pages without a known publication date. PDF results depend on Maktaba’s indexed coverage.

Search requests go to the Sawalni API. When AI Overview is on, Sawalni also receives your query and source excerpts. This app does not use advertising trackers.
A small reading list, kept in this browser.
Sawalni Search finds text pages in Maktaba, Sawalni’s growing web index. Coverage currently centres on the Moroccan web. It is not a complete index of the global web.
We combine Maktaba’s weighted full-text score with query and title matches. We remove repeated URLs and exact duplicate excerpts. A modest source-type boost and a repeated-site penalty help keep results useful and varied. These rules do not guarantee accuracy.
Results arrive independently. Sawalni reads up to five source pages and writes a brief overview. We check that cited excerpts exist in those pages. This does not prove that every conclusion is correct. Open a citation to inspect the supporting text.
Recent searches are off by default. Saved sources and preferences stay in browser storage. Queries remain in shareable URLs and browser history. The app keeps a bounded, short-lived search cache in server memory. Sawalni’s API may apply its own logging and retention rules.
No paid placements. No tracking redirects. No remote favicons. The current app has no content-safety classifier or Safe Search filter.
Change the interface language. Your query and result filters stay the same.
